Me and many people I know have been pouring their hearts and souls into creating amazing Minecraft servers, many of which feature guns as a main gameplay element. It breaks my heart, and the hearts of my friends and players on our servers to even think that these experiences could be completely wiped from existence for simply not aligning with Mojangs creative direction.
The solution:
Minecraft should be a game for all ages and demographics, but I understand that not all content is suitable for all ages which is why I suggest a "Content Warning". This will allow the amazing diversity of Minecraft experiences to continue and prevent users from seeing content they should not/do not want to.
How would the content warning work?
Like on many other platforms with user generated content, a fullscreen prompt would appear upon joining a server with adult content (similar to a resource pack prompt). The prompt would warn the user of content within the server, giving them an option to proceed having understood the warning, and an option to disconnect from the server.
(There could also be a check of the age of the Microsoft account to verify they are of age)
How will the content warning be enabled?
The Content Warning would be enabled by server owners in the server config if their servers contain adult content: if their servers contain adult content and they fail to enable the warning, they will be in violation of the EULA.
