Overhyped. They have reasons it wasn't added before, not just what everything assumes.

I think Fireflies would be a great addition to Minecraft! Here are some of my suggestions.

You would generally find Fireflies in meadows, underground mines, and not well-light areas. Their general light color is a muted yellow like torches but dimmer. Fireflies don’t illuminate much light, but if in big groups, you won’t miss it. They also come in different colors; some are spotted, like fungus mushrooms.

If you kill a firefly, it will drop its light. You can then go to the crafting table and add it to a lantern. And you can also add dyes to the fireflies’ light to change colors. They are also considering adding Chinese lanterns; you could use fireflies’ light to create them.

But if you want to capture a firefly, use a glass bottle or a clear container. Perhaps, we can create clear glass jars in a shape of a flower pot? Then just like a flower pot, you can place it anywhere to display the fireflies. If we were to create a new jar out of glass, we could use different colors like the stained glass now.

If I think of any more ideas, I’ll add them here. Let me know what y’all think! Thank you!

I'd want fireflies as at least particle effect, like in certain biomes, maybe dark oak forest or something? And idk if it's possible but switching base on the time of the day? Like fireflies showing up during dusk and stuff - as particles like in the nether biomes kinda.

I think it’s a great idea, as I didn’t have Minecraft during the short time Fireflies were in the game!
