Even though the game has giant monstrous bugs and the nether is a hellish environment perfect for arthropod threats, it's weird that there's absolutely none there at the moment. so i came up with one of my concepts, being an giant antlion with a literal bone exoskeleton that digs through the soul sand valley and emerges to catch unsuspecting prey, creating an area of quicksand to slowly drag its prey to the center, its menu consisting of skeletons and players, while also firing bone shards in order to make it even harder for their prey to escape. when slain it drops bones, it could also have some new drops that could either be exclusive to it or a new resource related to the soul valley and souls. it could also use soul fire for its arsenal and have an new transformation once it consumes a wither skeleton or a wither skeleton skull. it can only navigate and convert into quicksand soul soil, soul sand and other sand blocks, otherwise it will move slower without being able to dig looking for any sort of sand while still firing soul shards to defend itself
and as it can be seen this mob would bring a lot of new mechanics that might be hard to reproduce in the game, like quicksand and digging through blocks, but i'm sure that the minecraft team could make this work and as a mob that would bring a lot to the table it would be a great addition to the game, maybe we could even use quicksand to our own advantage
