Connected Log textures

When connected textures is on log blocks' top and bottom parts(The Lighter coloured ones) should connect to each other. I think it would make sense if we had these because there is some wide trees (Dark oak, Mega Spruce and some jungle trees) in minecraft and the logs inside these trees have dark parts inside them that don't touch air
