Snakes would be a passive mob who lives in every land biome exept for the snowy tundra, snowy mountains, and ice spikes biomes, they would prey on baby chickens and parrots, shed thier skin (which can be collected) and flee from players, wolves, cats, villagers, and illagers.
The snake skin could be used as an ingredient for a potion of silence, which causes your footsteps make no noise, which would both make the deep dark easier to travel and be and make PVP a little more unpredictable.
To persuade players against harassing wildlife in real life, snakes would not drop thier skin upon death, meaning that if a player goes out of thier way to kill a snake, they won't get the potion ingredient they are looking for.
