The Cherry Blossom biome announced for 1.20 should be made more unique. In its current form, it feels just like a plains or hilly biome with new saplings. I believe there are a few changes that could make this biome have much more of its own identity.
First, a unique grass color would really set it apart from other biomes (maybe a lighter, more lime grass color to better match the spring feels).
Second, I think that interspersing other trees (either birch or spruce, maybe that could be decided by nearby biomes) would be a great way of breaking up the pink in order to make the biome blend better with the rest of the world.
Third, I think the terrain generation could be more unique in order to make this biome stand out from other forest biomes (right now, the cherry blossom biome looks very similar to birch forests). I think making the biome more mountainous than any other forest biome—maybe even by making it spawn only close to mountain biomes—would help while also reflecting the terrain where these trees appear in real life.
Finally, I think the biome would really benefit from a unique mob. While sheep, bees, and pigs are all nice to have, a unique mob such as a bird like cardinals or blue jays would really make this new biome seem like its own. Besides adding ambience and uniqueness to the biome, birds have been a long-requested feature by players and this feels like the perfect time to finally introduce them, maybe they could even help the player collect new flowers!
