/execute run can use commands with slashes

The command /execute run /setblock ~ ~ ~ stone is invalid, because /execute run cannot handle commands that start with slashes. This is inconvenient, since commands that are pasted in (from F3+I or typing a command in chat) always have slashes. It would be useful if this was possible.
