Terracotta block / flower pot patterns

Armor trims are a thing now, archeology is at some point in time going to be added, and banner patterns are in Minecraft. Why stop there? What if players were given the ability to add decorative patterns to terracotta blocks and flower pots? It would not only expand the creativity of players to such high amounts, but also add so much ability to decorate places. They could be small or unique patterns of a different dye color.
