    This change increases the grind, for what reason exactly?

    It incentivizes the player to kill Villagers, does nothing to provide players with alternative options to maintain their gear, and doesnt affect loot tables in chests for mending books to offset the change to villagers. It just makes a trading hall take longer. Once you hit the anvil limit, your gear is effectively retired unless you luck out on RNG or cull dozens of villagers.

    Additionally, this affects ALL books. No one gets everything they need from looted chests. This change has too many unintended consequences. Are they earth shattering? No, but they are annoying (not fun or interesting).

    This doesnt exactly entice players to want to grind for the new trimmed armor either, let alone wear it and risk it breaking. Getting 1 (one) set of netherite gear takes long enough now with the template system, and it was already grindy.

    Free time is not a gameplay resource developers can make use of to artificially inflate the challenge of a game.

    Changing the anvil system would be a better use of resources, offer players more options, is lore friendly, immersive and would be better recieved by players.

    completely agree. it is way too easy to get the "rarest" enchantments.
