For a long time now the End dimension has gone untouched. With the Overworld now possessing a greater world height and depth, it might be time for the end to do something similar.
Currently in the end there is a gaping void between the Main End Island and the End City Islands. So why is this area empty? What is hiding from us? Yet watching us all the same?
A biome residing in the void, comprised of nothing but darkness, the only thing that makes it stand out are the glinting ashes of the chorus plants that once grew.
As players make their way through The Abyss biome, making good use of their crouching so as to avoid falling further into the void unknowingly, they may discover some ruins, with chests containing valuable items from a time long past.
But all is not as it seems, lurking and patrolling the vast, labyrinthian corridors, is a creature of pure hate and darkness, The Lurker. The Lurker has large eyes and a hunched figure. If it spots you, you are certainly dead. But the reward for avoiding them will always be well worth the trouble.
If the Lurkers have such a tendency to attack what they see, perhaps this is where the endermen learned their behaviour, and also the reason there are no end islands to be seen from The Abyss.
