Villagers are the most unbalanced thing in the game currently and this was amplified with the addition of the grind stone completely removing the purpose of diamonds. I'll list all the problems with the balance of villagers.
Biggest one is the diamonds. Diamonds aren't even valuable now because all diamond gear can be obtained from villagers. This wasn't as big a problem until the grindstone was added because usually the enchantments weren't very good.
Next big issue is trading for treasure enchantment books such as mending. Mending is cool but the option to spam mending books for 1 emerald completely breaks the game again. Mending books should remain a treasure enchantment. Treasure enchantments such as frost walker, mending, and the curses should be like swift sneak and soul speed not obtainable from villagers. This would also encourage players to do more exploring to look for treasure enchantment books.
Now we have the hard one, curing villager zombies so they give players discounts. I'm not sure quite how to balance this but it seems a little broken when your trading 1 glass pane or netherwart for a emerald. This also ties into trading loops when you cure a villager enough you can start trading for glass then turn it into panes and sell those.
While I think its good villagers allow you to get tons of blocks and things I think the more valuable items such as diamond gear and treasure enchantments need to be removed from the spamable trading cycle.
