The Wither has been in the game for a long time, but it for the most part is a pretty 1-dimensional boss. It's in need of some love and care from the developers to give it the same quality as other bosses like the ender dragon or newly added Warden. I propose that it be given new attacks split between two phases. The first of these would be similar to how it is now, with the addition of player tracking skulls that can be deflected like ghast attacks. The next phase the Wither would become enraged, causing a large explosion around it, and any surviving mobs or players in the radius get the wither effect. It then focuses on the player with the worst armor near it first, which while only being relevant to multiplayer would make the Wither feel like it's now acting more predatory. Additionally the first phase could have the wither focus on the best armored player. The second phase would also include more powerful attacks with larger blast radii. The tracking attacks are less frequent but much faster. To compensate and make this more of a feature and less of an annoyance, the projectile would be larger so that it could more easily be spotted. During this phase the Wither would cause wither skeletons to spawn in the area instead of skeletons or strays, with both bows and swords. I could write more but I am running out of characters and my next idea wouldn't fit in 150 characters unfortunately. The devs could of course do their own thing with the Wither, I just seek to start thetalk
