When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Conductive Copper Blocks

Copper blocks should conduct Redstone power. They would behave like omnidirectional Redstone dust. This would include signal strength falling with distance and weekly powering adjacent blocks. The signal strength in a copper blocks could be read out via a repeater or comparator.

This would also tie into the educational aspect of Minecraft, showing copper as a conductive material.

This would also finally give a way to do vertical Redstone!

    I don't think they would do this since it could mess up things people have built using copper.

    Currently copper behaves like any other solid block. So as far as Redstone is concerned copper could just be swapped out for any other solid block (eg stone). The only time you'd need copper in Redstone is a copper aging machine, and no copper aging machine I've seen involves powering the copper blocks. The adding functionality would far outweigh the slight restriction of asthestics in Redstone builds.
