Classic skin/New Year event/marketplace issue

During the New Year event, any time I collect the daily gift I have notice the game resets my avatar. I have been using classic skins I purchased in the marketplace, yet although I am not equipping the items from the New Year event I still return to the home page to a character, not a skin. I find this very annoying, as I then have to go into the dressing room and equip the skin again (and EVERY TIME it pops up with the "switch to classic skin" message"--even if I check the box to not show it again-- and a little bubble telling me "this skin will roam wherever you are logged in" that sometimes just won't move so I can read the Skin name). Can you please find a way to fix this?????
