A new hostile mob. Its head is like a flower bud begging to open, petals protruding forward to form a reptile like mouth which it uses to bite. Its body is like a thin flower stem with leaves as feet and arms. They are short, maybe just slightly taller than a block. Their head, the flower petals, come in several different colors, basically the same color as any flower in the game, so blue, red, yellow, purple, etc. It's purely a cosmetic. Basically think of a flytrap on legs, that's a raptor bulb.
Being small, they aren't particularly strong or durable, but they spawn in groups, so swarming is their primary tactic. They spawn in biomes with heavy foliage, so biomes like jungles, mangroves, and lush caves. Being plants, they could be active and hostile during the day but lethargic and neutral at night. This could shake up player expectations of enemy threats only happening in the dark.
In terms of drops, they drop a flower of the same color as their head. But there's also a very rare chance of them dropping a raptor bulb seed which the player can plant and grow like a crop to make a peaceful raptor bulb, having a new pet.
I view this mob as a primal, feral creature that has lived in deep wilderness, unseen by people. Maybe to add to Mincraft's lore, raptor bulbs are predators of sniffers, so the sniffer making it's comeback to the world is what brings about the arrival of raptor bulbs from hiding.
I think raptor bulbs would be strange, yet interesting mobs in the game.
