Having water near grass makes the grass greener

I am building in a desert, and I wanted to make a lush green feeling this desert. Now I know that moss exists, but I wanted to use a combination of both green grass, and moss. Obviously that won’t work though since grass is this gross, dead, yellow color in a desert. So I thought, if water is next to the grass then it becomes greener, or alternatively, you can put a bottle of water into the grass to change how green you want it to be. And thanks for reading this, I’m sure that there is somebody else who has had this same idea
