Since the Warden's ranged attack has a short range, it can be trapped quite easily. A good way to prevent this would be to add a new feature to it. Make it so that it can dig into the ground at any time (even with a name tag) and dig back out near the player a few seconds later, rather than it just despawning.
Or, if you want to allow people to keep the Warden as a "pet" then you could make name tags prevent this aswell.
