It can be repaired using a material called Hexsteel which requires putting a Netherite Ingot, Emerald, and a Cursed Book (Enchanted Book with a Curse) put together on a crafting table to get a normal book back and Raw Hexsteel as a result, and the item must be smelted in a Blast Furnace for 1000 (yes, a Lava Bucket for fuel) to get Hexsteel, which can be used to repair a Hexblade for about 20 levels.

Very worth it for an item that deals up to 25 damage, has about 3000 durability, and is as slow as a Netherite Ax. All of it is worth it.

I forgot to mention it avoids 50% of armor, so the maximum amount of damage armor absorbs from this item is 40%. Great for PvP!

The weapon gains 10 durability each time it consumes a curse, too a Maximum of 1000 durability gainable. It starts with 2000 durability, 31 durability less than a Netherite Sword, and, with 100 curses consumed, it has a total of 3000.
