Linking Boats and Animals

I think we should be able to use leads or chains to link specific things together. Why? Imagine this, you and your friend are going on an adventure but you need to cross the ocean. To save space you both want to use chest boats but one person might need to leave to use the bathroom or gets lost easily. Imagine we could use chains on two boats to “link” them, thus allowing us to get up and go do things (IRL) on long trips instead of two people riding together and running out space when they get to the destination or two people holding down w (or moving a joystick, etc.) for 20 minutes. The only issue I can think of is one person linking together a bunch of boats to gain a lot of portable storage but in that case there could be a limit on linked boats (3). With the announcement of camels maybe mojang could also add the feature of linking horses, camels or llamas together as well as boats. Overall being able to link things together would make group transportation easier and less annoying.
