Customizable Chiseled Statues:
Using any current uncut stone material or potentially a new material (Marble) you would first make a craft-able base out of the stone.
Once placed down, you can use two blocks of uncut stone and they will stack atop of the base. You can now begin chiseling away at the stone.
Chiseling:
Using a new tool, the Chisel, or giving new functionality to an old tool you would be able to right click on the stone to take chucks out of it. Figuring a normal Minecraft block is 16x16 it would break down into 8 2x2 chunks.
Mechanics:
When chiseling you cannot remove more than 50% of the current half slab you are working on or it break off. (This prevents making near invisible staircases or physically odd statues). The half slab of uncut stone will also break if there is no connecting 2x2 chunk attached to the base (floating/disconnected).
Once finished it can be moved around by silk touching the stone base.
I do believe this adds to the theme of the current update as chiseled stone occurred throughout all diverse historical cultures around the world.
