Dyeable Book & Quills, a new way to express yourself!

Going along with the theme of expression and representation, I thought you should be able to dye Book & Quills. You will have to use dye in the crafting recipe, otherwise it will be the default color. The books will also show their color when placed in a chiseled bookshelf. This will add diversity and quality to builds. For example, say my favorite color was pink and I wanted to write a diary of my adventures. Instead of writing in a boring old leather bound book, I can write in a hot pink book! This is just a little quality of life feature to make player's experiences just a tiny bit more magical.

    This coloration could also carry on to the Chisled bookshelves. What If I wanted to make a lovecraftian lair with interactive black books & other mysterious decorations? this could do just that?

    It should be able to allow any color, similar to leather armor. You could also wash off the color with a cauldron too.

    Imagine being able to dye raw leather. To me that just makes sense, since leather armor can be dyed. Then we could dye then craft, or craft then dye, just like with colored beds.

    Yes to dyeable books, but no to having them appear visually in chiseled bookshelves. That would require an absurd number of textures and blockstates for every single color combination for all six book slots. That would be a LOT. Unless they found some other method from what they've been doing (which don't get me wrong, they probably could find a better way), it would simply be too much work for something so insignificant (like having multiple candles in one block).

    Lecterns should be simple enough to do though.

    perhaps also remove the enchantment effect on finished ones, and have it have some sort of bookmark that shows that it's a signed book and not a regular book item

    I just had this idea too. I'm glad someone else thought of it but it doesn't seem to have gotten enough attention to be added to the update since as of writing this the pre release has come out sadly. I sometimes have multiple books and quills for notes I take about my project and it would be nice to be able to distinguish them quickly. And yes it would be awesome if they were on bookshelves as the color they were!!
