Gorillas

Let's face it, Minecraft's jungle biome needs more mobs!  So, I'm presenting gorillas.  Gorillas could be found in troops of in between 5 and 15 individuals.  They would forage and eat plants, fruit, and other vegetation.  They would be passive mobs, but if you attacked a member of the troop, then the silverback gorilla (head male), would protect his troop.  This would also raise conservation awareness for these amazing, endangered species!  So, vote to add this amazing animal to Minecraft!

    Adding animals just for the sake of making people aware, that they exist in the real world seems rather shortsighted to me. Since Minecraft is a sandbox game, any additions should have a tangible impact on the game's sandbox, small creatures like bats being the only sensible exceptions as truly ambient mobs.

    Gorillas, in this case, are extremely tricky to properly fit into Minecraft's world of simple mechanics with complex effects, as these are very much not simple creatures. This starting point automatically makes them stand out from the rest of the game, and not in a good way mind you.
