Sniffers should not be an aquatic mob

Sniffers need to be able to suffocate underwater, implying that Minecraft's sea level was a lot lower back in ancient times. This would add a lot of lore to the game.

    Its not an aquatic mob. Its only mentioned that the eggs can be found in ruins, ruins that were once on land

    I think it would be cool if it were aquatic. I don’t think players think much about how a sniffer that suffocates underwater could correlate to lower water levels in historic minecraft.

    They're already not aquatic to begin with, they're clearly not designed for it.

    The sniffer should be able to float. Also, the fact that ruins can be found on coasts, suggests that the water was higher in the past and then receded. That is lore already in-game.
