New bookshelves

I love the new bookshelves already but it would be really cool when they had the same functions as a funnel. So that a connected comparator would send a Redstone signal depending on how many books are in the shelf (1 book = 1 block redstone signal). You would have more options to use the bookshelf. Furthermore (but I don't know if this is possible) it would be nice to put paper in bookshelves. A few stacked sheets of paper on a shelf would add a new and more interest look to the block. Hope you like my ideas :)
