Why not just make the meteor land, then place itself onto whatever block it lands on? No destruction, really just a random chunk of rock?

I think that the Moon would be great as a new dimension to be added to Minecraft! My only issue is that the Moon would have to feature some new sort of ore, and be mostly very lifeless.
