    There should be a settings where you can customize button layouts, this helps the player to put the button where it is comfortable (especially to those who have finger disability).

    There should be an option where you can put a separate button for hitting and placing blocks so you can move your screen while doing placing or breaking blocks. (This would help the building and pvp mobile players who likes to play competitive with pc players).

    Gyroscope settings would also be a great feature in pocket edition mobile, this settings helps you to move your in-game camera by just tilting your device. This would help a lot of people in the pvp community because it helps the player move the screen while hitting the enemy.

    there should be a custom block break delay ranging all the way from miliseconds to seconds for intuitive customization but at the same time should only effect creative mode as it wouldn't be fair to players on other devices playing survival unless it works in parity of all bedrock versions and java too.

    Swimming: There's a bug with the new buttons. Actions where holding attack/interact button is necessary gets cancelled when start/stop swimming or enter/exit water.

    I feel like there should be an option to choose between the 800ms Block Breaking or the Old one because now it took awhile to break. Not to mention you are now unable to fly through while breaking block fast which make breaking things really quickly. I hope this option get added in eventually

    I've tested this beta thoroughly, and here's some problems:

    While pressing the joystick, my character often stops/attack/etc because my thumb creates multiple touches. Try to press the joystick forward with your entire thumb, and you can see this problem. If you disable "lock joystick" and move forward, sometimes the joystick itself will move due to the thumb causing multiple touches, forcing your character to stop (try it!).

    The joystick has varying move-speed, and I'd like an option to disable it. This is especially a problem if you disable "lock joystick" option, you'll often move slowly. Pushing the joystick should immediately use the maximum speed in that direction.

    On "joystick & tap to interact" mode, add an option to show action buttons. Try to catch fish in buckets without action buttons, it's near-impossible.

    In the touch options menu, "button size" & "default settings" has glitches. There's building issues with scaffolding as you can't crouch while on it. Boat is missing action buttons.

    Putting problems aside, I think this is going in the right direction. Autosprint option is a lifesaver and should be ON by default. We still need full customization: I want a big jump button on the top-left while disabling "lock joystick", using left thumb/index finger to move. I want to move pause/chat button, food/hunger & status effects to the center. And I want extra buttons to instantly use items without pressing/switching hotbar, it'll make mobile gameplay much better.

    I highly suggest checking out the mobile touch controls of other games in the mobile store. Common games like Critical Ops have a better joystick; it doesn't freeze if you slide it forward with your big thumb, and there's lots of buttons and customization. You can drag each button anywhere, and you can resize it by pinching the selected button. Players can create 4-finger touch controls with ease, and the UI/controls feel so smooth. It felt like a premium, well-made game, and we should learn from them. In comparison, minecraft's touch controls are very difficult to work with. I cannot move properly, as the joystick kept freezing.

    Mt feedback on the new touch controls:

    Thumb stick: love this idea. As it is now, it feels like I’m over using the up motion with my thumb… it has a weird wobble feeling and it is difficult to move my character precisely. I’m wishing it had a tap function to hold it in running.


    Block breaking: I am accidentally breaking blocks using the crosshairs set up, however, it is sooo nice to break blocks easier when I want to. I cannot discern if aligning the crosshairs, using the joystick, relearning breaking and placing blocks are why I am having so much trouble building with this set up. I misplace and misbreak blocks a lot.  This could take more time to determine pros/cons for my learning curve. It was very difficult to build. Missing my hand.   Could the ‘board’ for the boat and ‘ride’ for the horse appear under the left thumb controls? Not sure it would work, just a thought.

    Stack splitting: this is harder than it was before. If I want to split in half it’s faster, but sometimes I just want 2 of something. Now I need to split, then split it, then… you get my point. 

    control video was good. I did seek out later how to do a couple things, I think that’s on me though.

    Drag and drop: honestly didn’t notice this… until things were acting funky. 

    Swimming: went swimmingly! No really. It was sooo easy to swim and dive down. I want to get a turtle helmet and live by the sea! Whoop!

    Please remove the 800ms delay in the block breaking as it has made the game frustrating. Or as another user suggested please add a toggle to turn it on or off. Thanks.

    New feature in the creative menu inventory is good but kinda hard to swipe up and down since it suddenly pick up an item. I don't like the new feature that disallowed you to throw unwanted items back in the creative menu inventory. I FAR COMPLETELY DISLIKE THE DELAY TO DESTROY BLOCKS IN CREATIVE MODE! ITS VERY HARD TO DESTROY A LOT OF BLOCKS WHEN ITS THIS SLOW! IT'S A NIGHTMARES FOR US WHO BUILD A MASSIVE STRUCTURE! SWORD THAT CAN PROTECT US FROM ACCIDENTAL DESTROYING BLOCKS! I DON'T NEED THIS. REMOVE THIS MISTAKE. ITS UNPLAYABLE FOR MOST OF US.

    The touch joystick feels limiting to my movement.
    Please allow a HUD that gives you the new buttons setup but replaces the joystick with the classic arrow keys for movement.

    It always felt like i can press a button and instantly my character would move according to that direction... Having to drag the joystick everywhere can feel a little slow and slightly annoying

    The arrow keys used to make movement as fluid as playing on PC

    It seems the status icons have been moved in the latest update. Putting the status effect icons to the right can be annoying, especially if you can press the status icons creating window popups. It's very close to the buttons and will cause accidental inputs and deaths, creating annoying status popup windows while trying to jump crouch etc. I prefer that they're out of the way, somewhere UP on the screen. Please let us customize the HUD and buttons.

    I prefer the previous layout for the status icons, them being on the top of the screen makes it visible and not obstructed by the hand, though I'd like to personally edit their position further. I'm also fine with the stack-splitting method of the previous beta, and if there's going to be changes I hope that there's options for players to use this method.

    This new layout is very useful. But please also add a customisable feature to place the buttons according to players desire. It will be more user friendly, as players can customise their own layout, according to their ease.

    I've tested the "enable new touch controls" in the latest public release (1.19.31). It's not good, here's my experience:

    I started with 100 button size setting. The joystick is on the left of my screen, but it's too large & too high for my thumb. My character is moving slowly, and I need to extend my thumb very far to move at maximum speed & allow sprint. The auto-sprint option is not automatic when moving forward, which sucks. The status effect icons are killing me, they are close to jump button and I'd often accidentally press the status icon when jumping, creating window popups that paralyze and kill my character. Statuses need to be placed on top of the screen.

    Next, I reduce the button size as I prefer a small joystick. But now, the small joystick is on an awkward corner, on the bottom left of my screen. I cannot press the joystick & hold my phone at the same time, because my thumb & hand is shifted to the lower left. Now the jump/crouch button is too small to be pressed, and I prefer them to be at 100 button size. I'm failing jumps, leading to deaths.

    Then, I revert the new touch options, and changed the button size back to 100. Unfortunately, the button size bug from the beta has not been fixed, even though it's been mentioned here. After sliding the bar to 100, I cannot properly scroll the options menu. Whenever I touch the screen the button size bar permanently follows my touch. Closing the options window will change button size as the bar follows my finger.

    Continuing the above post, mobile controls are unfortunately still terrible. Auto-sprint should immediately auto-sprint when moving forward, without having to slide your thumb all the way up. The joystick shouldn't be on the center-left of the screen at 100 button size, and it shouldn't be at the extreme lower-left corner at 10 button size. By default, it should stay at a comfortable lower-left area, but NOT the extreme corner. The status icons need to be at the center-upper area of the screen, away from the hands so it's visible and will have no accidental touches. By default, the jump, crouch, and action buttons should stay on the lower-right for the right thumb to press. Right now they keep shifting up and down as the button size changes.

    However, the game really needs full customization of HUD and buttons, as I personally want buttons on the upper corners for my pointer fingers, with varying sizes.

    It's best to recruit game devs that are familiar with mobile touch controls, such as those working on PUBG and the like. Devs that have played mobile games extensively. I've tested minecraft's new controls using multiple phones, and they have glaring issues compared to other mobile games.

    Overall opinion: bad

    Lets break it down:

    Touch controls -- As I have stated in the other feedback post, add a FOURTH SCHEME for "d-pad and aim and crosshair". This keeps the same movement as the classic controls, with the ability to use the new functionality of the new break and place buttons. Seriously, how hard can this be to add. IMO, the joystick is just bad for MC. Also, the delay when pressing the buttons is horrific. Why is there a delay? WHY? Get rid of it. Also, ADD CUSTOMIZATION. I play on an iPad and the locations of the buttons force my hand into an unnatural position to play properly. We need the ability to move each individual button, and change the size of each individual button. THIS IS THE CORE PROBLEM. Address this PLEASE!!

    Block breaking -- I don't play enough creative to know. I can offer no helpful feedback.

    Stack splitting -- I guess its slightly better than a green bar and guessing.

    The video -- Its not a bad thing

    Drag and drop -- Drag and drop for me is just a slower way or managing inventory when I can just tap a slot to move it. Its existence means nothing to me.

    Swimming -- I wanna say yes, it is better, but the bad controls overshadow this almost entirely.

     

    Ive been playing MCPE since 2014 and to see the direction u guys r taking the controls concerns me as a long time player. I love the idea of the new action buttons and what it means for MCBE going forward but theres just too many issues that negate any good it could be doing. So please just fix it ;-;

    Please give an option to use arrows rather than joystick, but keeping all the attack button, sprint button and so on while using classic control. The idea with all the newly added button is great, but with the joystick, gameplay like parkour, bedwars, skywars become very difficult because you cannot walk in a straight line.

    The stack splitting is unnecessary, the new crafting is unnecessary and takes longer than just holding down the button if you're crafting large amounts of items, it just ends up with you accidentally crafting too much. The little scroll bar on Chests makes it much slower, the old scrolling was much better and smoother. The double tap feature to move items into your inventory is awful, make that a triple tap feature instead, it's completely unecessry

    I have been using the Crosshair control scheme for over half a year now. Everything is ok, but it's not very convenient to build. It would be nice to allow the placing blocks (only this) also by touch anywhere on the screen, and not just by a button. But that's not the point. In 1.19.50.21, the delay when pressing the attack and interaction buttons was removed. Because of this, sensitivity and controllability have deteriorated, since there is no time to bring the cursor to the target. Could you add a setting to return the delay?

    The new support for dragging and dropping items when you open a double chest (that bar on the side which you drag to view items on the bottom of the chest) is kinda annoying since it's hard to press (on mobile)..and the delay on item stacking too..the feature needs an option to revert back to old settings if ever. Thanks

    I hate the scroll bar on Chests, it's laggy and fiddly to use. The stack splitting and crafting also sucks please just change all of it back honestly.

    I find the controls intuitive overall other than splitting stacks but I do think it would be really nice if we could customize our buttons placement and size of our buttons as well as a left and right clicks button because it can be quite hard to barter with piglins or feed animals. It would also be nice to have a separate button to drop a object because I have very often droped a sword by clicking it in my hot bar.

    The drag and drop system is more fiddly and less convenient than the previous system. The double tap to move into your chest or inventory is more fiddly and less convenient as to see the information on an item or book now takes longer and you often accidentally move it. The crafting and splitting stacks was unnecessary and fixes something that wasn't a problem. The scrollbar on Chests is laggy and barely works, you're fixing something that wasn't a problem. How about you undo all the changes and add a feature that people actually want, like a button to quickly drop an item on the ground?

    Please add an option to revert back to tap-and-hold crafting instead of double-tap-to-craft-all.  Too many times I've accidentally consumed significantly more resources than intended because of double-tap-to-craft-all.  No matter how hard I try, it still ends up happening occasionally.

    And +1 to what others have said about scroll bars in inventory.  For me, the scroll bar is so thin its barely visible, and I sometimes end up tapping outside the window (which throws whatever selected item on the ground).  I've actually lost items because that happened and I didn't realize at the time.

    We should be able to move the buttons, change their size, opacity, and allow them to go off the screen. ( If you look at any mobile FPS games, nearly every one has these options ). The configuration you have them in now is just in general bad. They are uncomfortable to use and they are hard to press since we are basically forced to play claw ( using 3 or 4 fingers ) with them ( Most people who play claw make the buttons pretty big and opaque so they don't accidentally miss the button but still being able to see behind it. The button also tends to go off the screen since accidentally hitting the edge of the screen because you can't put the button there is infuriating.

    I would also like to see an option to be able to change the sprint to hold instead of toggle and being able to change the joystick to move at max walking speed ( similar to how you can use wasd on pc to move 100% walking speed instantly ). 

    Looking at these other suggestions, a shift click action to quickly craft the maximum you can or quickly move something into your inventory would be pretty cool. This could be just another button we can customize that would only appear in the crafting or inventory interfaces. Another one would be an F5 button to quickly change the perspective since that is a bit tedious on mobile.

    As for the other issues, I cannot give any input as I stopped playing the game after like 5 minutes because the controls felt clunky and uncomfortable.

    The current stack-splitting method is difficult. Add a sort button, take-all from chest, quick-stack to chest, and stack-splitting button like Terraria. It's much simpler and easier to use. Please add more on-screen buttons instead of implementing confusing methods for the sake of simplicity, there's lots of room for it in the UI.
