I am part of an IT department that also manages the digital side of a youth institution.
A project we where hoping to setup that got positive initial feedback from the head psychiatrist was to setup a private minecraft server. We hoped to provide an additional safe space where kids could not just express creativity but also develop their socials kills all under our careful watch and own moderation with respects to their individual personality and problems.
However with the recent addition to the report system and no way to opt out i am unsure if this project can still be successful. While an early idea was to run the server in offline mode and a whitelist of institution bought accounts we decided that this would cause to much risks in the server being hacked (Some of these kids are better in IT than us).
With online mode we are not able to block reporting, neither are we able to provide or own context as server admins, yet we are certain that this feature would get abused quickly. Conflict that would be unacceptable in public (and your tos) is very likely to happen at some point and we prefer to debate (and when appropriate punish) these events in our own merits.
