Please revert back the reporting system. The system can get abused easily and games like Roblox can show how disastrous it can be and blocking/muting is a better alternative way

Please allow some way for servers to disable the chat reporting feature, or at least some categories (particularly looking at swearing and drugs and alcohol, though I have concerns with others, too)

Optimally I feel like you should send chat reports to the server admins to determine if they warrant being sent to mojang/microsoft, though if you, for one reason or another, decide you want to handle the potentially massive volume of reports entirely by yourself, you should allow servers to disable this. Not all servers should have to be forced to act as though there are constantly small children around, especially not small, private whitelisted ones.

Please, be specific with the chat reporting! We still know very little about how long punishments will last, and whether or not they will be toggleable.

Please add the ability to toggle chat reporting on servers. Thanks

Please don't go forward with this reporting system. It is not your responsibility to moderate the chat of a server that is not being operated by you. We can already block players, that's enough.

The amount of communication between you and the players regarding this is disgusting.

Allay duplication should be reverted to 2.5 minutes

If ‘moderator’ means server admins, then I’m fine. Though, being completely banned from online play is kinda ridiculous and should just be banned from the server(s) in with the chat was sent.

I think if it was changed to a all-round reporting system(not just chat) that is controlled by the server’s admin, and does not harm the player’s ability to join other servers, it would be much better

I do not like this chat reporting feature because it could easily be abused. Do not implement it. Or at the very least make it toggleable on a server by server basis.

It's sad to see you ignoring the concerns and demands people have with / for such a reporting system. I do encourage everyone to spread word about mods that disarm the reporting system server side.

Yeah so this reporting system thing is actually a failure and adding it to the game is legitamitely a terrible awful idea.

What about the issue where the deep dark biome is not generating outside of the ancient cities? I upgraded my 1.18 world to 1.19, went 1000 blocks in the nether and came out in the overworld where I had never explored and no deep dark anywhere. I copied the world and went into spectator mode and I don't find deep dark anywhere. Chunkbase shows no instances of deep dark.

The chat reporting feature is a huge misstep that can be easily abused. If this were simply for Realms or Mojang-owned servers, that would be one thing. But we're talking about privately owned, privately funded servers that have their own mechanisms of moderation in place. This is not okay and it will cause massive problems in the community.

Privately-funded and owned servers keep Minecraft as a whole alive. The resurgence of SMPs in 2019 and beyond helped to save Minecraft from a steep decline. This is a step in the wrong direction and needs to be undone and never, ever explored again. If these comments here don't convince you, look at the hundreds of comments on other platforms. All of these comments are from people who care about this game and who keep the community strong through interacting in it.

The new reporting system is an awful idea and should be reverted back ASAP.

Scrap chat reporting.  Why do you even ask for feedback when you just ignore it?

The introduction of chat reporting and imposition of Microsoft Will against privately owned and Operated Servers must Cease Immediately.

The games original creator, with immense Foresight, understood that operating hundreds of thousands of servers in this game would be neither cost effective nor practical. In a game focused on Player creation and player ownership it was implicitly understood that it does not and should not fall to Mojang or by extension now Microsoft to policy third party servers.

this game has operated without such oversight without issue for nearly 14 years.
Expect Concentrated, Concerted, and Repeated efforts from the Java Community to disable this function by any and all means at hand.

Please completely remove the report feature for private server or set an on off options, the fact that feedbacks has to be verified says that you guys can just delete unwanted feedbacks

Please remove the reporting system. We players can handle the banning on our own servers.
I don't see the reason why we need a reporting system when we have the /ban command to ban players who break the rules.

what the hell, are you seriously gonna completely ignore our feedback?

pretty much everyone was against the reporting feature on the 22w24a feedback page, and you lot decided to keep going?

that really isn't how feedback works.

Please for the love of god make the report feature an opt-in or some sort of option, because if i've read the reports about bedrock correctly and how that is turning out, this is not going to be good.

As someone who's been playing since beta 1.4, the chat reporting leaves me deeply concerned about the future of Minecraft. If this only applies to Realms, that would be one thing. But why in the world so you take it upon yourself to moderate private servers and override their own rules? I play on a private server with only people I know from college, but now I have to worry about being permanently banned from all online play because I might be using profanity or talking about alcohol with other adults.

This entire "feature" needs to either be scrapped or undergo a huge rework. It is not your place to moderate private servers unless you're going to start reimbursing server owners for their costs.

The chat reporting system is a disaster waiting to happen and a massive overreach. Java server hosts have had their own tools to do this for years. It's unnessesary and ignores the fact that not every group of people has the same set of values. Trust server hosts to deal with these things ourselves like we always have. Enforcing one standard of rules, on *private servers* no less, is a massive breach of basic privacy. Disgusting.

Please revert this chat reporting feature and listen to the community's feedback. Stop making the wild update the most hated update ever. Fireflies got scrapped because of terrible reasons, and now this?

There's going to be tons of permanent false bans in Java, just like in Bedrock, with no appeal process. Swearing and phrases like "I'll kill you" or "I'll blow you up" is very common in this game. Without proper context there will be tons of false bans, caused by toxic players targeting people they don't like. Roblox is infamous for these kinds of false bans.

There are also many adults playing Minecraft, and they should be allowed to swear and talk adult stuff in their private servers and realms.

Stop wasting Mojang's resources on detrimental things like moderating chats, or making vids about "near-extinct animal/plant awareness", and please just focus on making a fun fantasy game. Minecraft is slowly getting suffocated by terrible decisions, and competitors like Hytale will eventually win at this rate.

I'm against the report system, its not practical and can be abuse. Let us, server owners handle that by our own.

Is there any point of this feedback section?

    Like do they even read?

The report feature is good on paper, keeping people safe from bad actors. But what if those bad actors use it to mass report innocent people and get them banned permanently? For Realms, it'd be fine, since you guys own that, but privately owned servers seems like a no-no, they have been proven to be capable of moderating themselves.

PLEASE allow 3rd party servers to opt out of the ban-list.  It makes sense to ban people from Microsoft's servers e.g. realms, but many if not most 3rd party servers maintain their own whitelists and blacklists and don't want those edited or added to by Microsoft/Mojang.  Bad actors on a server can organize to mass-report a genuinely good user, or moderator, etc.  Let 3rd party servers manage their own ban lists if they prefer.

Remove the chat reporting system it is gonna destroy private servers and people who just wanna play minecraft it is not solving anything let the servers ban and mute people on their own it's not your job. This is what almost everyone is saying about this feature and I agree with them mojang shouldn't be doing this it affects everyone I've already seen people saying they will bot spam people with reports to get them banned remove this feature and you will at least fix the damage you have caused already to the community.

I think that Amethyst shards in allays duplication should be replaced with music disk fragments, because these will make more player want to go to ancient cities and make this function difficult enough, because it's too easy now.

This extra territorial jurisdiction is horrible, what happens in 1 server should not effect the other. Minecraft Multiplayer is decentralised by nature, it should be up to the server admins to ban users if they break the rules, Microsoft should not be involved.  This is a horrible import from the bedrock which it should not even exist there it will be easy to fake reports or for reports to be misinterpreted, different servers have different rules, accounts can be hacked, there is no visible way to file an appeal that is easy to see, it is a general violation of freedom, people may just act certain ways on certain servers. It is also a violation of privacy especially if someone does not want Microsoft seeing the messages of the server.
