As someone struggling with poor eyesight in a family where multiple members also have the same issue, this is actually a very important setting that makes the game playable for a lot of folks.

More accessibility is always a good thing.

I struggle with chronic migraines that usually prevent me from being able to look at really dark images because it strains my eyes too much, so this is a HUGE must for me! I know that people tend to exploit it so they don't have to use torches in caves and while mining, but for disabled folk like me, it's heartbreaking to have a feature that lets me enjoy the game be removed. Put it back, and put it in a better place I say!

As another person with eyestrain and migraines this is a big factor in whether I spend any more money on Minecraft.

I have low vision and require accommodations and accessibility features across multiple devices in order to access content. Minecraft is unplayable for me without the feature to change gamma. This is very disappointing and disheartening.

    So much for inclusiveness, Microsoft!

This is a must-have. Updoot from me :3

THIS. I don't even have poor eyesight, but playing on my laptop during the day I can barely see anything when it gets dark in-game! If my eyes were any worse, it'd be impossible.

Most of you can work around this in the meantime, by using the gamma settings in your graphics card drivers.

Fully agreed tho that this must be addressed in the game too.
