I am myself someone who prefers gender neutral pronouns and I often notice people jumping to using gendered pronouns (especially he/him) when talking about someone who's gender they don't know. I've seen this a lot on Minecraft-related subreddits (it's even happened to me a few times) which is what prompted my suggestion.
It'd be nice if you could add this splash to try and help people to be more respectful towards each other and help them not assume other peoples' genders. You guys did add the BLM splash texts, so I'm hoping that you'll consider this too!
Thank you.
To tackle the first commenter's argument: Many people do read splash texts (including me). This splash text would make those people at least a little bit more aware of when (and if) they assume others' gender and might make them consider using gender neutral words. That's enough of an impact for me.
I would also say that misgendering isn't something that is only an issue in the real world. Multiplayer is a large aspect of Minecraft and that gives people plenty of opportunity to misgender others. Additionally, Minecraft lacking gender (excluding most players, the ender dragon, endermen and witches) is probably a better argument for this splash text than against it, as the splash text would complement Minecraft's lack of gender.
