These will be ~30x30 block openings in forests with no trees. Shallow puddles will generate outside of the pond area, to better blend it with the rest of the environment. About half of this space is occupied by a 1-3 block deep pond that has tropical fish, seagrass, kelp and possibly corals or a mangrove tree. The other half consists of grass where melons and blue orchids generate.
The capybara mob inhabits this area, with about 7 capybaras spawning per pond. They can occasionally be found near rivers too. Capybaras mostly lie down and do nothing, but they will occasionally walk around or take a swim in the water. They breed using melons. Baby capybaras can ride their parents when they're in the water.
What makes capybaras unique is that just touching one is enough for players to befriend it. After it's been befriended, it will push away any hostile mob within 8 blocks of the player in order to protect them. If players sleep in a bed nearby capybaras, they will all gather around the bed and sleep by the player.
