Ancient Cities: Needs more salt- Er, I mean skulk.
The new ancient city is already a terrifying place to roam around, however it doesn't feel truly aesthetic enough in terms of it being taken over by skulk and the warden. That's why I'm here to think of some things that should be done to add more fearful tone to it and scare a ton of players coming to it.
*Increase in overgrowth to skulk: It would add much more fear of thinking about the eerie halls and walls infested and overgrown with skulk.
*Soul sand, soil, and redstone lamps replaced with skulk related stuff: Mostly to add more aesthetic of a truly ruined and infested city.
-Bubbling Skulk: A type of skulk found in the patches. At random occasions it will bubble and set off a short pulse strong enough to set off a skulk sensor but not a redstone pulse in response to the sensor. This would be the best way to alert players and give them a false alarm.
-Skulk Organs: Scattered amongst the ruins lies what remains of an instrumental organ. Overcome by skulk, it will at random release an eerie hum similar to what was heard in the preview of the ancient city.
-Pulsing Skulk: Another good way of scaring a player with a false alarm, setting off a heartbeat sound similar to the warden's presence.
-Sinking Skulk: A huge natural danger found in the patches, if the player sinks in it, their xp will slowly drain and be fed to the skulk, allowing a catalyst to expand its infection.
I really hope that these get added, given that the ancient city really has the potential of expressing horror.
