Balancing the Impaling Enchantment [Bedrock + Java]
On Bedrock, the Impaling enchantment is almost as powerful as a Sharpness V Netherite Sword on a critical hit, while as on Java, the Impaling enchantment is next to useless, only damaging "aquatic mobs", which not many players really do. Here's what I think:
Impaling only deals this much if their target is in water. If they aren't in water, the following added NERFED damage is reduced by 33%.
IMPALING: ORIGINAL NERF
I - + 2.5 DMG (11.5 Melee DMG) --> + 1.75 DMG (10.75 Melee DMG)
II - + 5 DMG (14 Melee DMG) --> + 3.5 DMG (12.5 Melee DMG)
III - + 7.5 DMG (16.5 Melee DMG) --> + 4.25 DMG (13.25 Melee DMG)
IV - + 10 DMG (19 Melee DMG) --> + 6 DMG (15 Melee DMG)
V - + 12.5 DMG (21.5 Melee DMG) --> + 7.25 DMG (16.25 Melee DMG)
Ranged damage is one less than melee damage.
