In the past, Mojang stated, "[We will not be adding] Other people's mods (blocks, items, tools, etc.): While we have taken inspiration from community mods in the past [...] we are no longer adding community-made mods to the base game of Minecraft." I would like to encourage Mojang to reverse this decision.
The possibility of a creators mods and other enhancements being integrated into the vanilla Minecraft experience would be a great source of motivation for the community to learn new skills and become more engaged while being a great means of talent-scouting and to help compensate Mojang's services own shortcomings.
Why have the player base rely on 3rd party solutions to launcher problems (eg: Launching older versions of Bedrock not possible in launcher, Fixing compatibility, stability, and availability of Java versions not available in existing launcher, Extra platform availability) when 3rd party solutions could be integrated into the vanilla launcher and make a better and more seamless experience for everyone?
Why limit development of the game to what the community isn't doing themselves? Why not integrate critical performance-enhancing mods (eg: Distant Horizons, Optifine, Lithium (etc.)) - mods much of the community needs to make the Java edition of the game run at all into the vanilla experience? Why not implement existing community solutions for Java-Bedrock cross-play into vanilla and allow all players to play with each other?
Why not, Mojang?
Food for thought, I guess.
