You could also make maps off of it and stuff. I’m struggling to figure out why they would remove a feature that was nothing but a perk.

If they weren't going to provide further updates, they should have simply left old world as is, as there wasn't any harm to Minecraft as a whole. Users who have mid to low quality devices (like myself) have benefited greatly from this world type and are able to play and enjoy this game because of it. Removing old world type is very inconsiderate and counter productive.

I do hold on to some hope that mojang will someday reverse their decision and bring back old world type worlds, until then I guess I still have those few small worlds that I can always go back to.

My friend and I loved to make maps on these types of worlds so we felt very annoyed that they took something that not one person could complain about and remove it.

Also bring over all the size choices from Legacy console edition. More choices, not fewer!

YES! I have an old tablet, which lost support for new updates of MC this november, but still, I would have loved to have the old world type available for me to play with. Unfortunately I just had to downgrade to 0.8.1 to get less lag.

Anyone know if there is a way to play Minecraft Bedrock Oldworld 256x256?

Like on an old Xbox One console. I'm nostalgic to play an old school world.

This is part of the reason why old Minecraft has its charm, without most of the features and being landlocked you have to think outside the box, it makes Minecraft feel new again and brings back an excellent challenge

Superflat dimensions aren't a thing either, not even old dimensions! I could imagine the old nether dimension being completely enclosed in bedrock, like in the Legacy editions, and the end dimension not having gateways or outer end islands. Dimensions could be configured in the game settings.

I think if they add more Legacy console features into both Java and Bedrock, we could basically relive the old days before Legacy edition was put offsale.

Maybe you could configure the world so that you could have the old height settings and/or make the world only have everything from a specific update.

Bedrock edition should also have as much world types as in Java edition, where you can have one-biome worlds, amplified worlds, customizable superflat worlds, and maybe even some of the removed world types like floating islands, customized, and caves.

There should also be settings where players in creative mode could not mine bedrock, just for some extra nostalgia. Maybe they should make the bug where you can clip halfway through bedrock and the nether music will play an actual feature in the game!

Yes, I agree. There was so much you could do with those worlds, and so much ideas I had, like, make birch trees extinct, conquer the world, ect. I was so devastated when they removed the world type, because you can’t conquer an infinite world, and you can’t make birch trees disappear if they keep regenerating. Minecraft NEEDS to bring it back or I will be sad forever.

I LOVED creating treasure hunts on my Old worlds. I also loved the ability to wander the entire world without getting hopelessly lost.

I've been doing a lot of research, and there do appear to be several resource packs that CAN bring back Old worlds. The only problem is that they only seem to exist in videos and not in the marketplace on my app!

    What gives, Minecraft?

I finally figured out how to do this! It took a while, and it might not work for you, but here's how:

    1. I uninstalled Minecraft from my phone.
    2. I went online and found the apk version of v1.17 (the last version with the Old world type), and installed that.
    3. Because my phone told me that I, in fact, still had the current version installed, I went back and repeated steps 1 and 2.

Repeat step 3 as many times as necessary, trying different procedures each time. You may think you have uninstalled the app when you've really only removed the icon. Or the system may uninstall something, but not the game itself.

Shouldn’t matter if they needed to focus on other world types its not like they needed to add anything else to old worlds besides how they are already plus the restictions make a fun challenge
