Why was new music added?

I was playing the new update when the ambient music kicked in. I was expecting to hear the classic songs  by C418, but was met by something else. To be honest it wasn't bad, but it wasn't Minecraft. Throughout the past few years Minecraft has strayed farther away from the iconic game that it was. Now one of the only things that was left from Minecraft's former years was the iconic music, to add a new music disk (Pigstep) was fine, that's ok, but to add new ambient music is almost like a slap in C418's (and Minecraft's) face. To sum it all up, adding new music to Minecraft is fine, just as long as C418 has something to do with it. Thank you for your time.

    No, it does sound like Minecraft, let other artists make music for it, stop being biased and overly-nostalgic, it's annoying. Also, new music was already added in 1.16, and it WASN'T by C418.

    I do agree, I don't feel like they're disrespecting C418, but something feels off when i hear that music. But what I have also been feeling is when C418 starts playing at some point, it hits harder than before the new music, because I've been overloaded with it.

    Its so damn godawful i literally cannot listen to it, it sounds like the dubstep equivalent of someone taking a dump, i literally get angey when i hear it, its so damn bad. It does not sound like minecraft at all and its just awful dubstep. C418 made better music.

    I don’t hate the new music but I feel similar, it’s not Minecraft, it has a similar feel, and similar sound, but something pushes to far. It feels like it’s trying too hard to be C413 but you can tell it’s not. I don’t think it’s a slap in the face to C413 or the game but I personally prefer to play with the music off now, something about the new songs just don’t sit right. I wish it was just me but my cousin feels the same and he just recently started playing. Every song that he likes ends up being one of the classics so obviously there’s something far different to it. If you like keep liking it though! My opinion don’t really matter lol

    You do know that you can still get the old ambience music still, right? Just not as much because of the new music

    Bro why didnt they just hire CF18 again like that would have been a way better decisiion and it would make the community happier + better music and not this trash that we have to listen to

    Valid take. The new music is nowhere near the same. I’d like a menu option to keep the old ambience.

    Agreed, I will say Lena Raine did a fantastic job with the nether soundtrack. Not a fan of the rest of her stuff though
