With Deepslate being added to the caves as a stone for the deep caves, it may seem more difficult for the least experienced players to escape without having to adapt and use a pickaxe, but what If we have no sticks at all, or wood? This is where my Idea comes in, a risk and reward for players new and old:
a rare, large mushroom, known as the shadecap, could grow on the roofs of the deep dark, It could be made up of a more Violet variant of sculk known as Shade (which grows around it), which can hang on the ceiling and can detect vibrations that it can bounce towards multiple sculk sensors, and It may also spawn hostile vines.
However, the stem can be used to make shadewood, which acts as a variant of wood that is both twice as durable (with both planks and it's unique tool-set, which has almost the amount of durability as stone and efficiency of Iron, making it a sort of "Back-up Iron toolset".) and can be used to craft 8 torches with one coal and one shadewood plank. As for the Shadewart, which is the violet warts making up the cap, this block can be used with Iron armor piece in order to make Shadesteel armor, which has stats that are between Chainmail and Iron while allowing you to not cause vibrations through any action while sneaking, making It easier to sneak past the warden, It Is also the only armor that goes Invisible when the wearer uses Invisibility, making it useful for sneaking behind other mobs as well.
