Volcanos (Caves & Cliffs)

Volcanos would add so much to the game. Lava was introduced so long ago and doesn't have much of an overworld purpose (other than infuriation), so adding dormant and non-dormant volcanos, calderas, cinder-cones, shield volcanos, composite, all the types. Included with these, several blocks could be added such as sulfur and ash. New mobs could be added, more loot tables and structures could be added, many different biomes in and surrounding the volcanoes could be added, smoke coming up through the volcano and through vents could be added. It just feels like a necessary addition to add along with all the mountains in the new update.

  It’s a bit strange that the nether and geodes are the only place to get basalt, especially since basalt is, in real life, associated with the ocean and makes up a lot of oceanic crust! There should be volcanic islands that ooze lava and are made of basalt.
