How to Improve the Mob/Biome votes.
The Annual votes for minecraft content have been a controversial topic since their introduction, but I believe that they could be improved. There are two main problems with them at this time. 1. The losing ideas are promised entry later on but in reality they sit in purgatory since the updates are too big for them to fit in. 2. The place at which the polls are located does not give a proper representation of the minecraft community. How do we fix this? Well, instead of promising the return of (or worse, destroying) losing ideas in the votes, instead we should take the losing ideas and place them in the next mob vote, and make a new idea to replace the empty slot where the winner was. This will allow people to choose what gets added next and when, with no need for a promise to keep people's hopes up. Then we can move the polls from Twitter and put them on the actual minecraft website, or better, the launcher itself! That way, people who actually had experience with the game can vote for the best possible option. I also believe to kick off this new idea, we could have a new mob vote, with two new mob ideas, and a returning one from a previous vote, with more info on it. Rinse and repeat until there are no more ideas sitting in purgatory! In the end, I believe that these votes are perfect for interaction between game and gamer, but in order to maximize morale and optimize the workload, changes need to be made.
