LODs (Level of Detail) function for better Performance (on Java)
I would very much like to have a LOD or Level of Detail function that almost every game except Minecraft has. Here it would be possible to reduce the textures of the blocks to several chunks away so that less has to be loaded and the game runs more smoothly. This is a dream that I have had for Minecraft for a long time, but which has not yet come about (although it should actually be pretty easy to implement it). I hope that LODs could already be built into the 1.18 update or into one of the next ones. The FarPlaneTwo mod already shows that it is possible - but an official system would be much better for performance.
