Customizable Light Level Mob Spawning (Re: Experimental Snapshot)
The most recent experimental snapshot makes it so mobs won't spawn unless the light level is 0. While this is great for survival, it breaks creative mapmaking. Genres like CTM or any map that utilizes natural mob spawning or mob spawner mechanics will no longer be able to build with ambient lighting without completely negating their mobspawning capacity.
Possible fixes for this would include:
1) A gamerule that allows players to set the specific light level that will allow mobs to spawn.
2) Giving spawners a block entity tag that lets you customize what lighting allows spawns on a per spawner basis.
Either way, there needs to be a way for players to control this more than its current implementation so we don't lose years of Minecraft content by updating to 1.18.
