Interesting concept, basically efficiency for weapons. It would probably make them too overpowered.
With a little bit of tweaking this could make it into the game, but I'm not sure.

Another idea: if you’ve played Minecraft dungeons, you’ll know about accelerating, which speeds up a crossbow’s firing rate after every shot. Momentum could not only do this, but even make the crossbow automatic. Though to balance this obviously powerful enchantment, make this like mending; unobtainable via enchant table, but loot from a chest and also tradable via librarians

edit: the fletching table is a great idea! I’ll try thinking of how to implement this… maybe use it like an anvil, but only for ranged weapons?

That's a good idea, but instead of an acceleration enchant, what if it could be obtained from a Fletching Table? The Fletching Table is currently still useless, so what if you could upgrade a bow or crossbow into a rapid-fire bow, or a scoped crossbow, etc?

Edit: I was thinking the Fletching Table works just like the Smithing Table. You take your bow or crossbow, combine it with a shield, or a spyglass, etc and get a specialised weapon that can only really excel at one function.

Regular bows and crossbow are average.

A rapid bow is low damage but fast firing.

A scoped bow has faster projectile speed, meaning more accuracy, but also slower reload.

A shielded bow offers protection and does higher damage, but is extremely slow to reload and even slows the player while equipped, just like how using a shield slows the player.
