Combat Test 8c Balancing Suggestions
Swords – Re-add swords blocking (Absorbs 2 damage)
Axes – Increase all axe damage by 1.5 to make axes more useful
Tridents –Increase the speed to 2.5 to make it a bit more useful and unique. Also the impaling enchantment only works when the target is in water or rain, this is too situational for tridents to be useful in late game combat
Hoes – Adding sword enchantments to the hoe is a good idea. Lower the reach stat to 3.
Crossbow – These need to be buffed, currently crossbows only deal slightly more damage than bows. What’s worse is that bows have a power enchantment while crossbows don’t, making them useless in the late game
Snowballs and Eggs – should stack to 64, shouldn’t deal knockback to a shielding player, shouldn’t trigger eating interrupt
Shields – Tier II shields are a good idea. Crouch shielding and being able to attack needs to be removed, it is overpowered and many players I have talked to are under the impression it is a bug. Re-add critical hits bypassing shields to make shields less powerful
Armor and Protection IV – Both of these need to be somewhat nerfed. Fights still last a bit too long due to their high defense
Potions – These might be balanced thanks to eating interrupt, but having a counter to potion effects would be good
End Crystals and Respawn Anchors – Make end crystals and respawn anchors not stack (like beds) and reduce the end crystal damage. As it is, they essentially make the entire combat system pointless
