Levers/buttons should not give power, but rather hold power.

In the real world, a lever only relays a signal rather than giving one. A source such as a battery is connected to a component with a lever/button in between to either block or unblock electricity. In minecraft, a redstone torch, or block should be the only power sources. By placing a lever between two components of a circuit, you should be able to block/unblock a signal, or in other words turn a creation on/off. It would be the same with a button. I would also be okay if this was only for education edition.

    This should be a toggle in the world settings - not adding one for this would basically break almost every redstone build in the history of Minecraft, and I’m sure most of the technical community would not enjoy that.

    Apart from that, I’m not particularly against this idea.
