with the recent addition of raid captains the nether feel even more unfinished. the nether needs something more unique and to give the nether a purpose to visit cause it doesn't have a story. I propose bastion guards.
how does it work?: first off it will be a mini boss version of the armoured piglins. it should have a piglin banner much like its overworld counterpart the raid captain.
It would spawn in a room placed in each level (at least 1 per nether level). that room would be the gold room from the hunts but tweaked or a new room entirely (bastion related). assuming its the gold room the captain would spawn at the circle were the two gold chests are placed in the hunts. upon its death it will drop its flag, and open a gate into a gold chest which would drop 5-10 gold (NO GILDED WEAPONS DROP) this small amount of gold doesn't take away the value of the hunts. the flag has a very unique function and valuable purpose. when you collect this first it bumps the difficulty to your power level and will change if you change your power level. this is to stop easy farming by playing on a lower dificulty and blasting through the level.
upon level completion you get a chest and this chest holds a token. this token will be used in the ancient hunts. when you start a level and you have a token it guarantees a boss spawns. 1 boss per token, maximum 3 tokens used per hunt.
what this solves: this makes the nether have a proper unique purpose without a story. a reason to visit.
