Villagers have very specific behaviors in the Java Edition that they do not have in the Bedrock Edition. In Java, villagers stay busy at their work stations or very close to them during the day. They don't stray away and wander all over the place. In the evening, they stop working and gather in the village center, and they all hop around and bounce up and down like they are having some kind of wonderful party - just happy to be spending time together. During this time the villagers choose a partner and mate, and offspring are produced, providing that the village conditions are right for it.
In Bedrock my villagers wander all over the place, rarely want to work, and they never gather at the village center, never socialize, and never produce any offspring. Villagers in Bedrock are very boring and don't have any organized routines that make them seem like civilized people.
An item of functionality that exists in the Java Edition is also missing from Bedrock: in Creative mode when I click the villager spawn egg ON A VILLAGER, the egg produces a child villager. This function is missing from the Bedrock Edition.
Mojang did some wonderful work on villagers in the Village and Pillage update... in Java. I'd love to see that wonderful work ported into the Bedrock Edition. Thank you.
