sharpness is currently extremely difficult to obtain in high levels on axes, and it should stay that way. the cleving enchant will make getting axes to higher levels of damage much easier, in opposition to the current system, where the only way to turn axes into a really viable weapon when enchants are available is to use books, which could otherwise be used in bookshelves in order to get higher level enchants. this system of punishing players for getting higher levels of sharpness on their axes in turn encourages people to use swords more, because it is much easier to get sharpness 3 on swords than it is to get sharpness 2 on an axe. keep the system of sharpness as the only damage enchant for melee weapons, and encourage people to use swords more in combat.
