Will there be more biomes?

I want to know if they are adding more biomes to Minecraft, because in Dungeons, I am always so excited to explore the new areas, so I was wondering if the same will happen for Minecraft?

    I'm pretty sure they want to only add variations of biomes to make old seeds usable.
