Skulk/Warden should come in 1.17, but the biome should come in 1.18.

Kingbdogz has said that all of the Deep Dark blocks and features are heavily interconnected and need to come as a full package. Having the blocks and the Warden without the biome will break a lot of the charm of these features, and we wouldn't really be able to test how everything is meant to work because it is not within the proper environment. Besides, these features are the ones that need that new timeline the most so that they are able to completely fulfill their design and fully polish them so that they're ready to be tested by the community and so that the feedback we give is actually valuable. So you can expect when they come into the snapshots, they will all be together, because that is basically how they need to work. Also, you can get the announced blocks pretty easily with the current underground generation. They made Dripstone clusters generate occasionally in the current caves, and you can also trade for Dripstone blocks with Masons. Besides, you can find Moss blocks in the chests of Shipwrecks, which you can then bonemeal to get all of the Lush Cave blocks. Glowberries can also be found in Mineshaft chests. Deepslate and Tuff generate in blobs below Y=16. So it's not extremely biased towards Creative. Axolotls don't really need the Lush Caves; they aren't nearly as connected with the Lush Caves as the Warden is with the Deep Dark, or else they wouldn't have released them before releasing Lush Caves; same for the other features.

Hm, ok. Since we haven't seen the Deep Dark as a whole yet, i can't make a good argument that we need the skulk blocks now.

I still stand by the fact that 1.17 is heavily creative-biased. The admins of my smp realm are planning to switch the realm to creative until 1.18 comes out simply because it is so difficult to get the blocks in survival. Also, I think Mojang is only hurting themselves by doing stuff like making Dripstone Clusters generate in regular caves or making Moss Blocks bone-mealable to get every lush cave block. It takes away from the usefulness of your biomes.

TymJuniver I got around this problem by creating a recipe datapack that makes the unobtainable obtainable.
