The XP crystal!! (A way to store XP and a use for Amethyst)

Currently in minecraft amethyst does not really have a grand use. The spyglass is cool but really not that practical and tinted glass is not really useful unless you are building certain things. In order to craft this crystal you would need 5 amethyst shards one piece of glowstone dust and one piece of lapis. To activate this crystal you must hold shift while holding right click or the right trigger. After a short amount of time the crystal will absorb 1 point of XP. You can continue to do this until the XP crystal is full of 20 XP points. You then can brew it into a bottle O enchanting that when splashid will give the amount of XP you gave to the crystal. upon brewing the crystal the crystal  will shatter and be lost. You can find XP crystals all over your minecraft world. You can even find negative XP crystal in dungeons and strongholds that absorb the XP of the player when brewed into a potion. 

Edit: When brewing the XP crystal the XP will attempt to be divided evenly into each water bottle.

    I think this is a great idea, it gives the player a way to craft a previously un-craftable item and a way to store xp. However, the crafting recipe could use some pizzazz. Instead of using regular amethyst shards, you’ll need to use charged amethyst shards and you get them by having lightning strike at or near them. This item shouldn’t generate naturally or in loot tables as it should be a hard to get item.

    I like the general idea. I think some of the mechanics might need to be adjusted. Like requiring something akin to an anvil in order to load the crystal with xp. Basically an expensive crafting table that can't be moved when placed. This way you couldn't constantly load your xp into crystals as that would allow you to entirely circumvent the XP penalty when you die.

    I think it is a good idea. But remember what Mojang did with the Nether boat and made the Strider instead. if they ever do add something like this then maybe it should be more creative. It can still be a block but maybe it can be used differently in the same way. Like Maybe and enchantment that when put on a weapon, any mob you kill or how much xp you get from mining goes in the weapon and you can store xp in the sword or pickaxe instead of a block.
